Description

Don’t apply oil sprays, like mist and aerosols, as they can lead to residue build-up, which can be tough to clean. The sparkly interior and handle fit in with the brand’s name, but, in my opinion, cheapens the appearance. While some might like this look’s uniqueness, I prefer a classic aesthetic that matches any kitchen décor. Another reason why Blue Diamond is so inexpensive is its manufacturing location. Blue Diamond products are made in China, where the labor and regulator compliance costs are significantly lower than in other parts of the world. Cooktop Compatibility: Blue Diamond pans work well on gas and electric cooktops, but they’re not induction-compatible, except for the new Triple Steel collection. However, in a dishwasher cycle, there may be sudden shifts in temperature, not to mention the exposure to harsh detergents, which may possibly affect the cookware’s construction and ceramic coating.

Washing it in the dishwasher:Blue Diamond pans are technically dishwasher safe. However, the high temperature of the water combined with the dish detergent can wear down the coating. If you want your pan to last as long as possible, handwashing is best. The handles do not offer a cool grip entirely. However, that’s a problem that you can handle with oven mitts. The benefits of this cookware outweigh its downsides, by far. Tara Casaregola, the engineer who leads cookware testing at Consumer Reports, brings up a number of cookware no-no’s—among them, heating a pan before adding ingredients. “If you leave it empty and have it on high, that’s a misuse that can affect the coating,” she says. Although the brand’s advertisements claim the pan is dishwasher safe, the care instructions specify that owners should hand-wash the Blue Diamond pan. However, just like any other cookware, Blue Diamond also needs to be washed the right way. So, keep in mind all the guidelines and recommendations stated above, so you can maximize the durability and performance of your Blue Diamond cookware, and extend its lifespan. However, take note that the warranty doesn’t cover stains and damages caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, and overheating. The Blue Diamond pan is rated oven safe up to 850°F, though the glass lids are only safe to 425 °F.

Some Blue Diamond pans are induction-ready, but others are not. The collections that work with induction stoves include Blue Diamond Induction, Triple Steel, Gold, and Clad Pro. The Blue Diamond Classic, Hard Anodized Pro, Green Diamond, Red Diamond, and Pink Diamond collections are not compatible with induction stoves. What is the Blue Diamond cookware warranty? Although I can’t verify this claim, I’ve been using this pan for over a year and haven’t had any issues with scratches or chipping. Metal Utensil Safe The brand claims their pan is coated with a thin layer of ceramic which has been infused with millions of diamonds, making it incredibly durable and an excellent conductor of heat.

Fortunately, this isn’t a concern with the Blue Diamond pan since it’s designed with a ceramic coating. Cooktop Compatibility Blue Diamond pans are oven and broiler-safe up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The tough, diamond-infused cooking surface allows it to withstand the heat. Blue Diamond pans are oven-safe up to 600°F, but the lids are only oven-safe up to 425°F. Are Blue Diamond pans dishwasher safe? To test, I poured two cups of cold water in both a Blue Diamond Pan and a Calphalon Contemporary fry pan.

Besides the Blue Diamond pan and the other cookware items under the Blue Diamond brand, The Cookware Company also owns several other popular brands, including GreenPan ( see my review), Green Chef, and Green Life ( see my review). All of that to say, diamond infusion is a fun marketing angle, but with this pan you should not expect to be cooking atop the Hope diamond. Heat Distribution The best way to clean Blue Diamond pans is to wash them by hand with warm water, gentle dish soap, and a soft cloth or sponge. I don’t recommend putting it in the dishwasher since doing so can reduce the pan’s lifespan. Are Blue Diamond pans induction ready? It doesn’t matter whether you want a Blue Diamond saucepan, frying pan, or pots & pans set; they will all offer the following outstanding features: The commercial shows images of a flaky filet of white fish and eggs sliding right off the pan’s surface.

FEATURES & BENEFITS*

The oven-rating on this pan is fine, though we struggle to think of a situation where most kitchens would want to use it at such high temperatures. I guess it’s there if you need it. Dishwasher Safety
